Much remains to be repaired

Mistena begins after a long history. The game tells it in three scenes, then leaves you at the Camp.

  1. A scene from the game's intro: villages, fields and a windmill linked by paths at the foot of the mountains.

    Long ago

Humans travelled all over the Earth. They built cities, roads and machines to go ever further.

  2. A scene from the game's intro: stumps as far as the eye can see, a factory and grey houses on worn-out land.

    Then

In the end, they took more than nature could give. Forests shrank and soils wore out.

  3. A scene from the game's intro: a broken bridge over a river, an old ivy-covered tower, the forest growing back.

    Today

The roads lie abandoned and nature has taken back its place. There are bridges to rebuild and passages to reopen.

No end of the world to stop. Just a bridge to fix, then a passage, then another. Each time, there's one more place to explore.

Gather, craft, go further

Every trip brings back what you need to go a little further.

  • Explore Leave the Camp, cross the Forest Edge and climb up to the Old Mine.

  • Gather Chop wood, break stone, dig out copper ore.

  • Craft Planks at the Workbench, ingots at the Forge, then better tools.

  • Build Place buildings at your Camp, upgrade them, enlarge your bag.

  • Repair Fix the bridges and collapsed entrances that block the way.

  • Go deeper Under the mountain, the Mine Tunnels still hold their copper.

In the Mine Tunnels: the character breaks a copper vein with a pickaxe, next to a mine cart and rails.

At the Camp

This is where you come back between trips. The Workbench makes planks and tools, the Forge smelts copper, and Storage keeps what your bag can't carry.

Building, repairing and discovering new places earns you experience. The Camp grows with you.

What you repair changes the landscape

When you fix something, the scenery changes for good and a new path opens.

Drag the slider: the Old Mine entrance before and after. It took planks and copper ingots.

The Forest Edge bridge

Planks and stone, and the river is no longer in the way: the road to the Old Mine is open.

From the Camp to the Mine Tunnels

Four places so far, linked by what you've repaired. You reach them in this order.

  1. The Camp early in the adventure: the Workbench and a crate near the campfire.

    Camp

On a lakeshore at the edge of the forest. At first, there's only a Workbench and a crate.

  2. The Forest Edge: a dirt path between the trees.

    Forest Edge

Birches, rocks and a river to cross. The first bridge to repair is here.

  3. Arriving at the Old Mine, near a waterfall.

    Old Mine

An old mining site at the foot of the cliff, near a waterfall. Copper shows through the rock.

  4. The Mine Tunnels: the winch hall and its rails.

    Mine Tunnels

Under the mountain: the winch hall, rails, an old shaft. Every hall you visit is added to your map.

More places will be added as development goes on.
